#22: 1RM testing what’s acceptable and what is not?

Today we have a special video discussion of the topic!

Critta: Powerlifting point of view (0:15 & 4:30 ish)

Training in good form is the key.
Take the athlete to the beginning of technical break down.
Don’t wear gear (belts, wraps etc) when starting out lifting.

Chris: Olympic Weightlifting point of view (2:30 ish)

Strength reserve in squatting is the key.
No form breakdown in training.
Slight form breakdown on comp day if need be to win.
Cam: Team Sport Athlete/Field Athlete point of view (9:45 ish)

Training in good form is the key.
Take the athlete to the beginning of technical break down.
Train in a range of positioning to increase strength in all positions as that will serve a better purpose for sport.
