#32 What is insulin?
Insulin is a Hormone. Its role in the body is to use Glucose (Sugar) from carbohydrates for energy to use or store as glucose for future use. In more technical terms, Insulin regulates the metabolism of Carbohydrates and Fats by stimulating the absorption of glucose from the blood into skeletal muscles and fat tissues. As mentioned earlier, it is also the catalyst for storing glucose as fat tissue. Insulin also inhibits the insulin production in the liver.
